Why freeze-dried. Why Guud.

We take the water out. That's the whole trick.

Guud Advantage

We freeze fresh raw meat at around -40°C, then put it in a vacuum. The ice turns straight into vapour without melting, and most of the water leaves with it. What's left is the food, dry and light, and still in its own shape.

It's never cooked, and there are no preservatives. It keeps for 24 months because there's almost no water left for anything to grow in.

What that gives you

  • It's raw. Never cooked, so it stays close to how it started. (Wash your hands after serving.)
  • It smells like the real thing. Because it is. They can tell.
  • It lasts 24 months unopened. Keep it in the cupboard. No fridge, no defrosting, no prep.
  • It's light. A 30g pack of quail is a lot of quail.

How it compares

Freeze-drying is slow and the machines are expensive, so it costs more. We'd rather say so.

Why Guud

Every ingredient is doing a job.

Our ingredient lists are short enough to read in one breath:

  • Playshapes Chicken Lollipops: 92% chicken breast, 5% fruit, vegetable or goat's milk powder, 3% collagen.
  • Whole Quail: quail.
  • Quail Egg Yolk: quail egg yolk.
  • Meal Topper: duck breast, duck liver, fish oil.

No starch. No binders. No dye.

The part that makes it pretty is the part that makes it work.

The pink in our lollipops is cranberry. The orange is pumpkin. We don't add the appeal on top of the food. We make it out of the food.

Tested by Flower, Dotty, Monty and Venti.

Our two cats and our dogs taste everything first. If they don't fight over it, it doesn't ship.

Only the Guud stuff.
