Starting Out
What is Guud?
Freeze-dried treats and toppers for cats and dogs, made from real food. Every ingredient is doing a job. If it isn't doing one, it isn't in the pack.
Will my pet actually eat it?
They're made of meat, so most do. Everything is tested by Flower and Dotty (cats), Monty (dog) and Venti (my cousin's dog). If they don't fight over it, it doesn't ship. But every pet is different, and sometimes one says no. It happens, even here. Email hello@guud.pet, tell us what you tried, and we'll help. We offer guarantee of your satisfactory.
Which one should I start with?
- Training or recall: Whole Quail. It's light, it doesn't crumble in your pocket, and it's worth coming back for.
- Fussy eaters: Meal Topper, scattered over their usual food.
- Pets with sensitivities: Quail Egg Yolk or Whole Quail. Both are single ingredients.
- Something to increase bonding or simply slow them down: Playshapes Chicken Lollipops.
- Not sure: The Guud Box has a bit of everything.
How do I introduce them?
Slowly. Give one or two pieces a day for the first few days, then build up. Any new food can make poo softer for a day or two. That's normal. If it lasts longer, cut back and speak to your vet.
Are they for cats or dogs?
Both. Every product is made for cats and dogs 12 weeks or older.
Are they suitable for puppies and kittens?
From 12 weeks. Start with a small amount.
Ingredients & Allergies
What's in them?
Only what's on the front of the pack.
- Playshapes Chicken Lollipops: 92% chicken breast, 5% freeze-dried fruit, vegetable or goat's milk powder, 3% collagen peptide.
- Whole Quail: 100% quail.
- Quail Egg Yolk: 100% quail egg yolk.
- Meal Topper: duck breast, duck liver, fish oil pearls.
No starch. No binders. No dye. No preservatives. No grains.
Where do the colours come from?
From the food. Pink is cranberry, orange is pumpkin, purple is blueberry. We don't add the colour. We make it out of the food.
My pet has food allergies. What can they have?
Whole Quail and Quail Egg Yolk are single ingredients, and quail is a protein most pets have never eaten. That's why they're often a good choice for pets that react to chicken or beef. Check each ingredients list, and ask your vet if you're unsure.
Do the lollipops contain dairy?
Only the goat's milk flavour.
Feeding
How many can I give?
Each pack has a feeding guide based on your pet's weight. As a rule, treats shouldn't make up more than 10% of what your pet eats in a day.
Can Guud replace their meals?
No. Our products are complementary pet food: treats and toppers that go alongside a complete diet.
How do I use the Meal Topper?
Sprinkle over any meal. Cut their usual food down slightly so they don't overeat.
Can I add water?
Yes. A splash softens them, reverting back to their original fresh condition, which some older pets and cats prefer. Serve them straight away once they're wet.
Does the Whole Quail have bones?
Yes, it's the whole bird. The bones are raw, not cooked, so they're softer than cooked bones, but always supervise your pet while they eat. If your pet gulps its food, break the quail into smaller pieces.
My pet is pregnant, elderly or has a health condition. Can they have Guud?
Ask your vet first. They know your pet better than we do.
Freeze-Dried & Raw
What does freeze-dried mean?
We freeze raw food at around -40°C, then put it in a vacuum. Most of the water leaves, and what's left is the food.
Is it raw?
Yes. Never cooked, so it stays close to how it started.
Is raw safe?
Handle it the same way you'd handle raw meat in your kitchen. Wash your hands after serving, keep it away from human food, and wash your pet's bowl after each use. If anyone at home is pregnant, very young, elderly or has a weakened immune system, take extra care. Every batch is quality and safety tested before it ships.
Why does it cost more than other treats?
Freeze-drying is slow, and the machines are expensive. There's also no flour or filler to bulk up the pack. You're paying for the food, not for padding.
Where are Guud treats made?
In China, by an award-winning specialist freeze-drying pet food maker with decades of experience and expertise. Freeze-drying needs big, expensive machines and people who know how to run them. We chose a maker who could do it properly.

Storage
Does it need to go in the fridge?
No. Store it sealed, somewhere cool and dry.
How long does it last?
24 months unopened. Once a pack is open, we recommend use it within 4-8 weeks.

The Guud Box & Bandanas
What's in The Guud Box?
Four packs of Playshapes Chicken Lollipops, one Whole Quail, one Quail Egg Yolk and one Meal Topper. Plus two matching 54 × 54cm bandanas, free.
Which bandana pattern will I get?
That's the surprise. There are four patterns, and we don't say which one is in your box. You'll find out when you open it. Whichever you get, both bandana are the same, so you and your pet will match.
Is it safe for my pet to wear the bandana?
We suggest take it off before they're left alone.
Is it limited?
Yes. Once the bandanas are gone, they're gone.
